Become an early riser
A proverb coated by Benjamin Franklin, “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”, is a dream to everyone. But the truth is, we always try to believe this, “From tomorrow, I will get up early”, and it never happens.
The alarm beeps, and you slap on it. It rings again and gets another slap!
So what is the point? You know the importance of being an early riser. Let’s try to motivate ourselves again.
Early rising
Increase your productivity:
You can make a plan for your day, Check your emails, do some exercise or try to study. It helps you to be healthy and gives opportunity to become successful in a planned way.
Increase creativity:
Never wait for a calm and quiet night to do creative things because your brain becomes lazy and tired at that hour. In the morning your fresh mind will help better to do such things.
Decrease stress:
Snooze... Snooze... Snooze! Wake up! It’s again late. So be stressed. Be hurry. Again late for your work. If you get up early, you will have time to set your mind, what to do, what you did wrong yesterday, how to overcome it. It will help you to relieve your stress.
Increase fitness:
Why don’t you get up early and do some exercise or yoga to be fit and relax your mind? It will increase your energy and make you healthy.
We all know the benefits. There are hundreds. But still, we feel it is essential, but don’t believe that we all can be an early riser.
So what should you do? Let’s have a plan:
Be motivated, Change your belief:
Don’t make it tomorrow. Set the alarm on your clock now. You know the benefits of early rising. So why you are waiting? Plan the first work of tomorrow morning and go to bed.
Go to bed early:
Though modern science couldn’t establish yet why we need to sleep, we need a minimum of 6-8 hours of sound sleep to maintain our regular work. So we can’t go to bed at 1 am and wake up at 5 am. If you want to get up early, you have to go to bed early.
Fix a schedule or routine:
Fix a schedule of your sleeping hours. Try to follow it strictly. The human brain has a biological clock. If you follow the same routine, your sleep cycle will be restored in your brain. It is the circadianrhythm of our body that is mediated by neurons and hormones.
Have a tight sleep:
For having a good sleep
- Don’t use your phone or other accessories after switching off lights
- Use a calm and quiet room and don’t use your bedroom for office work, which may irritate you.
- Use comfortable mattresses and pillows.
- Avoid coffee, tea or any caffeine-containing food at least 6 hours before your bedtime.
- Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol before sleeping.
- Don’t eat a spicy and heavy meal at dinner, which may cause heartburn and discomfort.
- Eat your dinner a minimum of 2 hours before your bedtime.
Give yourself a reason:
Give yourself a reason or select some good work at your extra time in the morning such as exercise, day planning, emailing, little office work, study etc. Try to fulfil your target. Give a reason to get up early and make the logic a challenge.
Start with small:
Is 8 am your rising time? Don’t make it 5 am in one day. Set a target. Start with rising 15-30 minutes earlier. Continue it for 5-7 days. Then make it 30 minutes earlier more. Change your bedtime accordingly at night.
Keep your alarm clock far from your bed and don’t snooze it:
Keep your alarm clock a little far from your bed. So, you have to leave the bed to stop it. But not so far that it can’t wake you up.
Don’t snooze it.
Get out from the bedroom:
After rising, don’t look at your bed again; get out of the room. Enjoy the morning.
Establish a morning routine:
Establish a morning routine. Freshen up with cold water. It acts as a stimulant to your nerves. Then do some fixed works every day such as take a cup of coffee or look at the newspaper make breakfast and then start other activities such as exercise or preparation for your office or study.
Take good breakfast:
You have to take a good breakfast to remove your all tiredness. It should be the wealthiest meal of our day with nutrition. Have a good diet plan.
Feel happy for achievement:
Less than 1% of people are early risers. You are one of them. Isn’t it inspiring? I feel happy about it. Get motivated.
Be consistent:
Be steady and consistent. Follow your routine every day. Without discipline, you will not achieve anything.
So, be an early riser. Don’t let the sun catch you in bed. Become a better successful man.
